Following the mammoth promotional tour in support of their critically acclaimed third album, Subatomic, The Spades spent time focusing on family and other musical projects. The group returned to their recording studio, The Narrows, in 2012 and recorded two new tracks: Side A, featuring a blistering cover of long-time fan-favourite, Fred Eaglesmith’s “49 Tons”, and Side B, “The Unknown”, a more reflective song which comments on the theme of mindful living.
